SEN Specialists

Our SEN specialist positions are within dedicated special needs schools, as well as mainstream school settings. For a number of our positions, our client schools do require specific experience and qualifications, with some schools happy to consider those individuals looking to make the move in to working within special educational needs.

Special Educational Needs (SEN) affect a child’s ability to learn. These can include their:

  • Behaviour or ability to socialise
  • Reading and writing, e.g. dyslexia
  • Ability to understand things
  • Concentration levels, e.g. ADHD
  • Physical needs or impairments

Pupils with such needs are often eligible for an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), which is a legal document that sets out a description of each child’s needs and a plan to meet those needs by education, health and social care.

Whether working within a dedicated SEN or mainstream school, class sizes are typically smaller, with around 6-8 pupils, with a higher staff-to-pupil ratio than a typical classroom. SEN environments suit and require individuals with a genuine passion and interest in SEN, able to navigate through the daily challenges faced.

Supporting children who have been identified as having special educational needs or requiring additional support has been an increasingly fast-growing job sector for Clarus Education. Our specific SEN roles range from in-class support through to the management team.

If you are looking to secure a long term or permanent position as an SEN specialist, please feel free to look through our current positions or register your interest today.

  • positive review  After lots of time trying to find a new position, Clarus Education came and swooped me up. I cannot thank Scarlett and James enough for their hard work and dedication to find me a placement. James offered me lots of motivation and support throughout the interview process and the post interview process. Always messaging me frequently to make sure I was good or needed any advice and information. I highly recommend Clarus Education as you won't find a better agency who make the effort.

  • 5 star review  Clarus Education have been amazing from the very beginning. Throughout my contact with the company, my main point of contact was with a guy called George Mair. George was approachable, genuine and dedicated to finding a role to suit my preferences. He kept to his word and within only a few weeks he had met with me to discuss what I wanted from a role and had set up a trial day with a school located 9 minutes from my house! I cannot recommend these guys high enough. Thank you Clarus Education!

  • 5 star review  Clarus Education is an impressive recruitment agency, they take in to account a candidate's career aspirations and abilities whilst providing guidance and support to find the perfect role. At all times the staff have been approachable, supportive and professional when aiding the process to find a job. In particular Shevonnae looked in to my profile and skills and helped me to find a position within three weeks of sending my CV and cover letter. After meeting for an interview to assess my needs, she prepared me thoroughly for an interview and found the perfect school for myself. Thank you for the help and support, I cannot recommend this company enough.
