SEN Specialists

Our SEN specialist positions are within dedicated Special Needs as well as Mainstream School settings. For a number of our positions, our client schools do require specific experience and qualifications, with some schools happy to consider those individuals looking to make the move in to working within special educational needs.

Special Educational Needs (SEN) affect a child’s ability to learn. These can include their:

  • Behaviour or ability to socialise
  • Reading and Writing, e.g. Dyslexia
  • Ability to understand things
  • Concentration levels, e.g. ADHD
  • Physical needs or impairments

Pupils with such needs are often eligible for an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), which is a legal document that sets out a description of each child’s needs and a plan to meet those needs by education, health and social care.

Whether working within a dedicated SEN or Mainstream School, class sizes are typically smaller, with around 6-8 pupils, with a higher staff to pupil ratio than a typical classroom. SEN environments suit and require individuals with a genuine passion and interest in SEN, able to navigate through the daily challenges faced.

Supporting children who have been identified as having special educational needs or requiring additional support has been an increasingly fast growing job sector for Clarus Education. Our specific SEN roles, range from in class support through to the management team.
